Hoot

Hello my lovelies, hope you're all well.

My SIL and I went to Ally Pally on Sunday.  We had a lovely day but didn't spend too much money.  We both had shopping lists, unfortunately nothing I wanted was at the show, so I had to whip out the computer when I got home to order all the bits I wanted.  One thing we did notice at the show were the number of bow making dies out not, they were absolutely everywhere.  But, did you know you can make bows with the envelope punch board from We R Memory Keepers (if you have one).  There are some fabulous tutorials on the Samuel Taylor website.

I've been feeling a little mojo-less recently, so in an effort to find said missing mojo I took myself on a little journey through blogland.  I found masses of inspiration, but in doing so, lost masses of pennies!!  I know you feel my pain.  It's at times like these that I wish hubby and I had a joint bank account LOL!  Along the way I found several wonderful blogs and new (to me) stamps by a very talented lady called Stephanie Wincott at  http://www.clearlybesottedstamps.com.  You've probably already heard of these stamps and dies, but I always seem to be behind the times.  A list of items used is at the bottom of the post, but in case you were wondering about the pearls, they're from ebay.

Anyway, here's my card, I really love it, hope you do too.

Sorry about the quality of the picture, I was having issues with my camera!!

Santa Slider Card

Hello my lovelies, hope you all had a fabulous weekend.

My card today is a slider card featuring a rather frantic Santa, he goes spinning along the card.  I'm not sure who this stamp is by as it was just loose in a box of odd stamps, but I love him.  He's been coloured with copics.  The sentiment stamp is from Stampasaurus, I think I got it from The Stamp Man.

I made the cutting file for this myself on the SnC.  Super easy to do.

A Gift Card Holder

Morning my lovelies, how are you all this beautiful bright Monday morning.  Another dry weekend, and more gardening and tidying up achieved.

I spent most of the weekend going through cupboards having a right good clear out.  I now have three big boxes full and ready for the first boot fair of the season.

Anyhoo, onto my card today.  I have made a little gift card holder using a cutting file from http://www.birdscards.com/.  This ties up with a ribbon.  I emailed Bird and asked if she could design another one with a tuck-in flap, which she very kindly did and I will show a couple of those possibly next week.

The little owl is from a new stamp set I picked up recently, but completely forgot to take note of the name (Sorry!).  The cardstock is some very old Hunkydory stuff I had lying around and the sentiment is from a Paula Pascale set.  He's been coloured with copics and I added a couple of tiny little pale blue gems to finish off.  The ribbon is from Create and Craft.

I'd like to enter my card in the following challenges:

Snowflake Card

Morning my lovelies.  Hope you're all well.  Did you all enjoy the gorgeous weather we had this weekend.  I managed to get lots of tidying up done in the garden and we dug out two new beds.  So hopefully come summer it will be full to bursting with lots of lovely flowers.

Anyhoo, onto my card.  Today I have a snowflake card to show that was made using my Scan N Cut.

I was a little concerned about cutting glitter card, but the machine handled it beautifully with no problems.  It would blunt the blade in time if cutting lots of glitter card, but I think I'll get myself a new blade as soon as they're back in stock and keep the old one just for cutting glitter card.

All cutting files and the digital stamp for the sentiment were free from http://www.birdscards.com/.
.

Sorry, the photo is a bit dull.  The card measures 17.5cm x 17.5cm.  It's a pearlescent card from Anna-Marie Designs.  The large crystal in the centre is from Mei Flower.

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Party Penguin

Morning my lovelies, hope you are well today.

I spent Friday at the Make-It craft show in Farnborough with my SIL.  Had a great day and spent plenty of money, but pretty much only bought card stock.

My card today features Party Penguin from Sugar Nellie available as a digi stamp from Funky Kits.  He's been coloured with copics and I put Cosmic Shimmer Glitter Jewels in Iced Snow on his hat for the sparkle.

Sorry about the quality of the photo, the light was a bit rubbish.

My First Scan N Cut Cards...

... Almost!

Hi everyone, I'm back as promised with my first completed cards made on the Brother Scan N Cut.

I love how these turned out.  Simple and pretty.  And best of all, they fold up nice and small, so no extra postage costs.

The sentiment embellishments are Tim Holtz.  The ribbons and gems are from my stash.  They've been cut from a variety of card and papers.  I've been so impressed with this machine.  It did take a little bit of playing to get the blade depth and number of cuts right.  For example, cutting layered card, such as adorable scorable or Miri, I had to cut twice, the first time on blade depth 3 and the second time on blade depth 6.  This gave a beautifully sharp cut with no bits fraying.

I got the cutting file for this card free from http://www.birdscards.com. This is an absolutely brilliant blog.  Bird gives cutting files and digi stamps away completely free.

I'm off to Farnborough on Friday with my SIL to the Make-It + Knit & Stitch craft show.  So very excited, I'm having crafty shopping withdrawal symptoms.  You know how it is!!

I'd like to enter my cards in the following challenges:
